This recipe for Spaghetti Sauce features a rich tomato base with garlic and optional basil and red pepper flakes, perfect for serving with pasta.

4 28 oz cans of whole or diced tomatoes
1 6 oz can of tomato paste
12 garlic gloves
3/4 cup of olive oil
basil (optional)
red pepper flakes (optional)
Peel and mince garlic.
Heat 1/2 a cup of olive oil in a large pot (high-low to low-medium heat), and heat the garlic until golden and fragrant.
Add the tomato paste and 4 cans of tomatos and bring to a simmer. If adding red pepper flakes add them now.
Cook uncovered for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add a pinch of salt, the remaining 1/4 cup of olive oil, and basil if you are adding that.
